Some distinctions carry meaning far beyond their appearance. At Alma Café, being officially awarded the “Certified Craft” label is much more than a stamp on our packaging. It is a recognition. A seal of authenticity. A powerful affirmation of the path we have chosen since our very first coffee bean.
To be acknowledged as an artisan in Belgium is to remind the world that behind every bag of coffee lies a hand, a gaze, and a story. That our craft is not improvised, it is honoured.
From the beginning, we have embraced a demanding path: that of a modern artisan, where technical precision meets human sensitivity. Roasting is not merely a process for us — it is a dialogue with the bean, a delicate encounter where we strive to reveal its complexity without ever overpowering it.
Our commitment begins long before the roasting process. It starts with direct relationships with farmers in Venezuela, whom we consider not just suppliers, but partners — equals in vision and in values. That bond to origin is fundamental: it reflects our belief in trade that is respectful, ethical and human.
Every Alma coffee has its own story and identity, which we celebrate through collaborations with Belgian artists. Our labels are born from creative partnerships that express, in image and colour, what words alone sometimes cannot. Because to us, coffee is also a cultural product. Something to be felt, experienced, and shared.
In a world where tradition and modernity are often viewed as opposites, we are sometimes asked:
"Are you an artisanal roastery or a modern brand?"
Our answer is simple: we are both.
We stand for a modernity grounded in responsibility, rooted in respect for nature, transparent sourcing, and a deep concern for the health of our customers. At the same time, we remain artisans in spirit, in our way of working, our philosophy, and in our unwavering love for the craft.
This certification is not an end point, but a meaningful milestone. A sign that care, sincerity and excellence still have their rightful place in today’s world.
We are proud — proud of the work we’ve done, and of the direction our project is taking. And above all, we are grateful to those who support us, work with us, and believe in us.
Alma Café is a journey — human, artistic and deeply committed.
And this label gives that journey a louder, stronger voice.
